Katie Overbeek is a worship leader and songwriter with Anchor Point Church in Alliston, Ontario.
Katie graduated in 2006 from Toronto's Royal Conservatory of Music with a degree in classical piano performance. However, lacking desire to pursue a career as a stage performer, she chose instead to develop a small business teaching music lessons to children.
At 19, a series of unexpected circumstances flung Katie into leading worship for her small hometown congregation. It was an unceremonious and difficult beginning, but as time passed, a clear sense of purpose began to unfold.
Katie began writing songs in her early 20's, and within a couple of years was leading several of those songs trans-locally in other churches and at various events in Canada, the USA, and Britain.
Katie and Josh were married in 2011 and moved to Alliston to be part of Anchor Point (formerly Alliston Christian Fellowship) where they now serve on the leadership team. They have two young sons, Joseph and Tate.
The fruit of years of waiting, learning, and growing both in God and as a musician, Katie's debut worship album SPIRIT COME brings together driving congregational anthems with raw, stripped back devotional tracks. Produced by David Kuwabara and Nathan Finochio, it was released internationally on FEBRUARY 1st, 2017.
